| November
2004, I fulfil a lifetime ambition to visit Westons Cider
Farm at Much Marcle, Herefordshire. Here's some pictures
of it... |
Old
advertising poster with clever "Sells through the name"
pun. |
 |
 |
| The
bar at the Scrumpy House restuarant, where you can wash
down yer delicious food with a glass of Weston's Perry,
Stowford Press, First Quality, Vintage & Old Rosie! |
Ye
olde delivery van |
 |
 |
| Hydraulic
"wet" press - this is massive and presses about
a million gallons a second or something silly (I did have
all this written down but have lost my notes somewhere,
so facts on this page may be inaccurate). |
...and
I can't remember what this is at all. Looks impressive though. |
  |
 |
| These
were used for the bottling and labelling process. The one
on the right also enjoyed a sucessful career as a baddie
in Dr. Who during the 1960's |
Late
19th century Scratter - on wheels! |
 |
 |
| ? |
Horse-operated
stone mill. This is what we need to crush our apples! Has
anyone got a spare horse we can borrow next year? Or a zebra
will probably do. |
 |
 |
| The
bottle museum - the largest cider bottle collection in the
world. Most of these were sadly empty. Or they were by the
time I'd left anyway. |
Retro. |
 |
 |
| more
bottles. |
These
were all Westons bottles from throughout the ages. |
 |
 |
| Some
of these were made by "Long Ashton" - the research
centre maybe? |
Some
Coates Cider of Nailsea bottles amongst these, including
the funny shaped one at the bottom. |
 |
 |
| Dwarf
people cider making |
Exhibition
Cider, made by Taunton Cider - is this the same as the Coronation
Tap stuff? |
 |
 |
| The
bottle collection in full (apart from the ones behind me).
You can hire this room for events and meals. |
