DO THE ROUGE GROOVE!
To celebrate Bristol City's trip to the Millenium Stadium this Sunday, HannahMoreZider.co.uk exclusively bring you a guide to The Rouge Groove. Inspired by the favourite hand-movements of right-wing legend Tony Rougier, this dancefloor sensation has been sweeping the discotheques of the nation (well , Nailsea), since God bought the Rouge to Ashton Gate a few months ago to ignite City's season. We would like to spread the word to all 35,000 City fans travelling to Cardiff on Sunday and get the whole crowd grooving like Rouge!
The Rouge Groove is easy to learn, and can be done to almost any song! Just do each of the four steps below continuously to each line of a song, until the song ends then finish the dance by knelling down to pray. These steps are explained in more detail below, and are illustrated by the Rougster himself, and 2 of North Somerset's finest Rougier lookalikes...
STEP 1: FIST SHAKING
Shake clenched fist backwards and forwards.
A popular Rouge gesture, first seen on his debut at Port Vale when the Rougmeister ran up to the travelling City support and did this, while shaking his head and grinning. Interesting picture of Roug below grooving in a Brighton kit during his on-loan spying mission there last year.
STEP 2: BADGE PATTING
Pat your the City badge on your shirt a few times.
This signal from the Rougathon got a great reaction from the crowd who watched City's 1-0 thrashing of Plymouth last month. Rouge gee-d up the supporters as the tension built towards the end of the match with all sorts of weird signs including this tapping of the Bristol City badge - indicating his love for the club, despite only playing one game for them up to this point!
STEP 3: SALUTE HEAVEN
Wave arms towards the sky, and look upwards.
A rare Rouge Groove maneuver, actually made up by Matt Hill who cheekily did this behind the back of the Rougarama as he ran out the tunnel at Luton to chants of "Rooooooooouuuuuuuuuggggggiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeerrrrrr" from the crowd.
This is the closest picture we could get of this step of the dance, but both the Rouges on the left and right should really be facing upwards to the sky more, as if they are saying "Lord, just when will Lee Peacock head-in one my pin-point crosses??"
STEP 4: FACE IN HANDS
Put hands in praying position over face in gesture of despair, shake head slightly.
Rougey did this first while walking off the pitch at Luton, distraught after City lost 3-2, despite equalising in injury time just a few minutes before Luton's last-gasp goal. Sadly it wasn't the last time he was forced to do this move in dejection before the season was out.
FINISH SONG PRAYING
Kneel down in prayer when the song finishes
Pray in thankfulness that you are The Rouge, you are great, and you've just scored for City!
This is only to be done at the end of the song, as it's too much hard work to do it more than once in 3 minutes, especially after a few ciders

NOW PUT THEM ALL TOGETHER AND DO...
THE ROUGE GROOVE
FINISH SONG WITH A PRAYER...

Make your own Rouge mask here, and join in the Groove on Sunday! (Word file)

An exciting day for Tony: Rouge tries some Hannah More Zider and obviously loves it, then has the honour of meeting an HMZ Director.
