The
A's 3-2 victory at Worle on May 6th brought the NUFC season to a close
with all 5 teams finishing in the top half of their divisions.
The
First Team finished their Somerset Premier Division season with a record
of played 34, won 17, drew 7, lost 10, for 72, against 39, points 58.
They await the result of the Wells v Mangotsfield game to see whether
they finish 6th or 7th. Hengrove won the league with a massive 90 points,
going the whole season unbeaten, whilst Cheddar, Backwell and Stockwood
occupy the relegation places.
The Reserves played 32, won 13, drew 8, lost 11, for 51, against 45, points
47. Final league position 7th. Cutters Friday were the runaway winners
of Division 2, with Bishops Lydeard and Dundry snatching the promotion
spots. Weston St John and Peasedown will be relegated.
The A's won promotion from WSM & District Division 2, taking the runners-up
slot behind Worelbury Spartans. They played 22, won 15, drew 4, lost 3,
for 57, against 22, points 49. Portishead B were also promoted, the bottom
3 were Wrington, Worle and Locking.
The B's also went up with a runners-up slot in Division 4, South Park
Rangers taking the title. The B's record was played 22, won 14, drew 2,
lost 6, for 66, against 32, points 44. Kewstoke Lions came 3rd, whilst
Yatton, Portishead and Cheddar are on their way down.
The Colts are currently 6th, and await the results of Bourneville Rovers'
last 2 games to see if they hold that position. Their record was played
22, won 9, drew 5, lost 8, for 52, against 52, points 32. Weston St Johns
Sports Bar took the league title, with Draycott and Westend also promoted,
whilst Selkirk, Ellenborough & Wedmore go down.
