Three
items of news for your information.
Planning Application - I am pleased to report that the
Club has submitted another planning application for the erection of dressing
rooms adjacent to our Somerset County League pitch at the Grove. We have
worked very closely with a local architect and put revised plans together
which will hopefully address the reasons for the rejection of our previous
unsuccessful application. As with all planning applications, it will be
approximately 2 months before we get a decision from the local planning
authority and I will of course keep you all updated of any developments.
New Goal Posts and Nets - Replacement of the existing
goal posts and nets used for our WSM & District League pitches has
been long overdue and I am pleased to report that new ones have been ordered
from a specialist supplier. These will resemble the 'box net' style currently
used for our Somerset County pitch and will be a vast improvement. We
hope to have the new posts in place over the next few weeks - there will
be some ground work necessary before they can be erected.
NUFC 'Night at the Races' Fundraiser - As previously
advised, our next fund raising/social evening will take place at the Grove
Sports Centre on the evening of Saturday, 5th March 2005. I hope that
once again I can rely on you all to support the evening enthusiatically
as you have done with the Club's two Karaoke/Disco evenings and please
ask friends and family to come along. We already have sponsors for all
of the races and as some of you will testify, Barry is looking to sell
horse ownership for £3.00 each. If any of you can 'buy' a horse
that would be great and maybe even sell to people outside of the Club.
I am sure the evening will be another financial and social success so
please make every effort to get along.
Cheers
Spence
