Another Great Karaoke Night

On behalf of Barry and myself, can I sincerely thank everyone who supported last night's excellent event at the Grove. The first disco/karaoke evening we held was superb and although Barry and I were hopeful of a good follow up, it totally surpassed our expectations.

In terms of revenue to the Club we made a stonking £548.20 profit. This included over £100 from the raffle, so a massive thank you must go to the unrelenting dynamic duo of Yve and Clive who just carry on raising the bar with their raffle ticket sales. I feel what is also key is that we have so many guests from outside the Club supporting us. In particular, the number of ladies gives the evening a better balance and this is something I hope we can build on.

Over and above the amazing financial result on the night, everyone appeared to be enjoying themselves achieving it and Barry and I feel very strongly that the equal value of the Club's social events is to bring everyone together and give them a good time. In terms of the 'performances' my personal favourite has to be the Crazy World of Smiffy and James H dueting a manic 'Fire'. The demonic 'You're gonna burn' chorus could have come from the 60's classic itself!

So on to March when we will be holding a horse racing night. Granted, it will be a different type of evening, but I am sure that if everyone supports it, then it will be just as successful and as much fun.

Thanks again everyone

Spence
