As
many of you will already be aware, myself, Barry and the NUFC Team Managers
have recently been reviewing weekly training arrangements. This is due
to two main factors; the North Somerset Council directive regarding our
restricted use of the Uplands (to two evenings per week) and a review
of the Monday night training facility we have been using at Ashton Gate.
As a management team, we have fully discussed the impact of these two
factors and from today (Monday, 15/11/2004) the following weekly training
arrangements will apply until further notice;
Monday night, 6.45 pm for a 7.00 pm start - Fitness training at the Uplands.
Open to everyone at the Club. However, all players with aspirations to
be selected for the first team will be expected to attend.
Tuesday night, 6.45 pm for a 7.00 pm start - Training at the Uplands for
our Weston Super Mare & District League teams (A's, B's & C's).
Thursday night, 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm - First team and Reserve team training
at Backwell School Gym. I would like to thank Dave (Brace) for arranging
this facility at short notice.
Efforts to find an astroturf facility for the Club's training has also
been undertaken, but sadly, and perhaps understandably at this stage of
the season, there are no local facilities available.
Please understand that as a Club we will continue to review training facilities
and try to provide the best possible sessions we can. However, most importantly
of all, please attend the sessions arranged for you and give it your all.
As we all know, training is key and hard work during the week will reap
dividends every Saturday.
Finally, can I take this opportunity to thank Peaks, Boots, Simon, Wally,
Trev and especially Coges (and son!) for turning up early Saturday morning
to check the lighting equipment at the Uplands. Coges deserves a massive
thank you from the Club for giving us his 'spark' expertise - crucial
to the future of us training at the Uplands.
Thanks
Spence
