PERSISTENCE OVER FENCE PAYS OFF FOR SPENCE

Wednesday, 3rd November.

Barry and I have just come from the Nailsea Town Council meeting and I am delighted to advise that we have received permission to enclose the two open sides of our Somerset County League pitch with a 1.8 metre fence. As many of you will be aware, this is the first phase of our development plan to meet the entrance requirements for the Screwfix League, in that we are required to enclose our playing area. It's been a long, and at times frustrating haul, since we first submitted our proposal in June, but with patience and persistence we've got there.

Regarding the second phase of our development plan, a decision from the North Somerset Council, on the planning application we have submitted for portacabin dressing rooms located adjacent to the pitch, will be decided by 9th December 2004 (the details can be viewed at http://www.n-somerset.gov.uk/living/planning/permission/291004.pdf - application no. 04/P/273 9/F). If successful, we will then be looking for the entire Club to focus even more seriously on fundraising to realise our aspirations as quickly as possible. A step forward at last -

Onward and upward!
