A MESSAGE FROM YOUR CHAIRMAN

As the start of the new league season beckons, I would just like to wish everyone at our Club the very best of luck for the ensuing campaign. Having watched almost all of the pre-season friendlies, I feel we are in very good shape, a testament to the hard work everyone has put in during the pre-season.

Our Somerset County squads look very strong and led by Derek, Steve and Dave, I am sure we are in for a successful season. The ‘A's and ‘B's have new managers on board and looking around the training ground and having watched the ‘A's win against a strong Yatton team, we genuinely have some depth to those squads this season, which I know will be well managed by Tony and Mark. Last but not least, there are the Colts and having had the pleasure of playing alongside Steve and Dave's latest crop of youngsters, I was thoroughly impressed by their attitude and obvious potential.

Development off the field, things are happening, albeit not as quickly as we would like, but I should have some further news after 1 st September, when I am due to meet the Town Council again. However, we now have a new, impressive and vibrant website, which I am sure you will all agree is something to be really proud of and my thanks again go to the lads at Hannah More Zider for helping to make this happen.

Just some final points for our players to note. Try and make your Team Manager's and Club Official's lives as easy as possible, since they all work extremely hard to maximise your potential and enjoyment. Simple things like paying your fees on time, being punctual and keeping people informed will all help to make everyone's lives easier. Also, please support the Club's efforts to fund raise – this will be absolutely key to us moving ahead.

So enjoy the coming season everyone and let's have one to remember, on and off the field and put Nailsea United Football Club where it belongs – at the very top of the pile!
