2005 - The Countdown Begins...

It's come around so quickly again! Just as the last specks of mud are cleaned off the tent from 2004, here we are thinking about the highlight of 2005! Most of the regular HMZ crew were lucky enough to secure tickets, so we will be bringing you some unique previews, reviews and photos from this year's festival.

The good news is Mendip District Council have granted the festival a licence, so it'll definitely be going ahead, but Mr Eavis has announced that 2006 will be a year off.

HMZ were pleased to see the tickets went on sale much earlier in the day than last year, and we even managed to get some sleep this time. The improved systems seemed to have the necessary capacity to make ticket-buying as painless as possible, with internet tickets selling out in just over 2 hours!

We were as saddened as many other Glasto & music fans by the death of John Peel late last year, and think it is a great tribute that not only has the New Bands stage been named after him, but it has also been moved to a more prominent location (the former Dance Tent site), to reflect the growing importance of new music to Glastonbury.

Below are some quick links to the pages we have prepared for Glastonbury 2005:

- The Line Up - all the bands revealed

- Pyramid Preview - What to see and what to miss on the main stage, by HMZ's Jungle Jim

- Rest of the stages Preview - Some highlights of what's going on elsewhere, by festival veteran Gents

- HMZ's Weather Forecast - The most comprehensive forecast ever made up

- Glastonbury starts taking shape - exclusive photos of Jungle Jim's visit to the Festival site 3 weeks before it opens.
